Things I'm Thankful For

To start off the week with a wonderful, beautiful morning. I've decided to make a list of things I am thankful for to remind myself of all the blessings God has given me. So, here it is

1.) I am thankful for my parents, even though they can be a little bit nosy and annoying at times, I am thankful for their presence, for their love and care. Sometimes I wish I can be a better daughter for them. =)

2.) I am thankful for my family. They are not the perfect family (like the camden's), but they are MY family and forever will be. =)

3.) I am thankful for my cozy bed. Where I dream about all the possibilities of life.

4.) I am thankful for lazy sundays.

5.) I am thankful for good food.

6.) I am thankful for cameras and videocameras. They allow us to record and capture moments. (Very important for people like me who tends to have slight alzheimers).

7.) I am thankful for chickens (fried, grilled or roasted), shrimps and crabs.

8.) I am thankful for plants, trees and nature.

9.) I am thankful for computers (allows blogging possible).

10.) I am thankful for good friends.

What are you Thankful for?

25 New Things

I just turned 24 last week!!! I am now a 24-year old (supposed to be grown up) young lady (yes... young!) !!! Nothing really special about my birthday this year except that it was proclaimed a special non-working holiday (this year only) because of former president aquino's death. Talk about some luck! The whole nation is mourning while I celebrate my birthday! haha

Anyway, this year is actually my one birthday in 6 years that I feel good I'm turning a year older. Somehow after 18, birthdays aren't that much fun because of the pressure of having to act like an adult and/or because of the tendencies to becoming restless... So this year, since I have pledged to cut away all the negativity and to start to be more enthusiastic about life... I have decided to make myself a list of 25 things to do that I haven't done (things that I am either too scared to try or simply too lazy to do)! My list of 25 things must be accomplished on or before my 25th birthday! So... I have exactly one year to do them! Enough time I guess. So here's my list of to-do;

1.) Buy myself a Labrador Retriever/ Golden Retriever (on my 25th birthday).

2.) Complete a 26 things photo scavenger hunt. (I got this from Yes and Yes! - one of my favorite blogs!).

3.) Take Dancing Class

4.) Try Snorkeling

5.) Send an Annonymous Message (Got the idea also from yes and yes, from her list of 30 things to do)

6.) Finish reading atleast 2 books from my 'list of books to read'.

7.) Watch Sunrise or Sunset on the beach.

8.) Donate Blood

9.) Check out a Local Comedy Bar

10.) Send out a Balloon with Petty Cash

11.) Go to a Beach!! (can you believe it? never been into one)

12.) Learn how to Cook! Atleast three main dishes!

13.) Watch Wedding Singer movie.

Ok... I guess 25 things is quite a lot... don't have any ideas right now... maybe I can get some more ideas from other people...

List still to be updated... hehe

God wants you to know...

Got this from facebook.

It made so much sense to me that I just had to post it and share it with everyone.

God wants you to Know...

…that HAPPINESS has nothing to do with PLEASURE.

You feel pleasure when you want something and you get it.

Or when you don't want something and you remove it.

Pleasure is always RELATIVE.

Happiness is ABSOLUTE.

Happiness is the UNDERSTANDING and ACCEPTANCE of life as it is in this very moment as completely perfect, because every creation of God is perfect.

The degree to which you DO NOT ACCEPT life in all of the Divine forms is the degree to which you SUFFER.

It's a gloomy sunday

So Much To Do... So Little Time

Have you ever had one of those days when you feel so energetic... so full of life.. that your brain cells can't seem to stop producing ideas making it hard for you to concentrate? It's as if you've been asleep for so long, you feel like you do not have enough time to make up for everything you missed. Come to think of it, I've missed out on a lot of things in the past just because... whenever I wanted to do something… there's always a "what if…?", a "but..." and a "because..."
Finally...

I am tired of making these excuses! Haha!

So as part of my mid-year resolution plan, I've decided to become more pro-active, to stop the negativity and procrastination and to just do it! Things had been going pretty well lately... I thank my brother for helping me out with my driving and for being very patient with me! haha I figure I can already drive by myself before the year ends! woohoo!! Next stop - I plan to learn cooking! haha! Not so much into culinary but I think it is quite important to know a thing or two about cooking! I better start to acquaint myself with different vegetables... seasongs... etc. etc. haha! So excited!

I'm really happy to start blogging again! It encourages me to do stuff I don't normally do, knowing that I'm gonna write about if afterward! I'm also inspired by oh! mishka with her list of 5 things to do every week! For now, I'm gonna stick with 1 thing to do a week, hopefully, I can do more in the weeks to come =)

Life is short and I don't intend to just sleep my way through it! =)

Drive With Caution!!!

Yesterday, I had my driving lesson with my brother. It's my Nth time to practice driving and still I cannot seem to master the art of controlling the wheel. Although this time, my leg muscles looked like they have accustomed themselves with the pedals, it's easier now for me to adjust my foot and the force I put especially in stepping on the gas pedal! Knowing that I have already improved from last time, I was quite confident with my driving. I tried to feel like a professional driver until when I was just about to hit the lady walking in the corner as I was taking my right turn. =(
Fortunately, I wasn't able to hit her hard, but as I step on the break, the car slightly bumped into her left leg. I looked at the lady as she cried out and stared at the car with disbelief! She was angry... really angry! She went up to me, knocked my window expecting for an explanation. She pointed her fingers at me and uttered words like "how do you drive?", "do you know how to drive?", "do you have eyes?", "i think you're just learning" and "use your eyes! watch where you're going!". I quickly apologized and admitted that I am still learning but in spite of my apology, she continued to point her finger at me and continued nagging. My brother then stepped up for me and told the lady that she was walking in the center of the road and that she should use the sidewalk instead. The lady walked away... (whew!) but still furious of what happened. It was hard for me to focus on my driving after that. I kept on thinking of what would've happen if I wasn't quick enough to step on the break?

With the narrow streets of manila, double parked cars, crowded sidewalks (causing people to walk in the street), jeepneys, pedicabs and people who think they own the road, it is rather challenging for one to drive in the streets of manila!!! No wonder why they say driving in manila can make you impatient and hot-tempered!

This Is It! Blog Blessing!

My First Entry.

I always liked writing but was never really confident about my grammar and skill to keep people interested, not to mention organizing my train of thoughts to make sure that people can actually understand what I am writing about. I've had several failed attempts to maintain a blog, however, the insecurities seemed to always hinder me from fully expressing my thoughts.

After reading other people's blog entries, I am inspired to start blogging again! I just hope that I can keep up this time =)
